Besides my Flayerkins I have been working on some of mutated rat ogres. I have decided to use the stormfiend models. What I really like about those models is the size, they are so much larger then a usual rat ogre. I have used some green stuff to get rid of the places where the armor usually is. Surprisingly enough the armor of the models is pretty optional something I really liked, because I want raw stitched mutants not some skryre mechanic super monster. One other problem with the model is the hands (why will you not include regular hands GW!!!!!!). What i have noticed is that the hands of river trolls match these models really good, all it need is some measurement, some green stuff and voila! you have yourself an ordinary rat ogre... except it is HUGE!!!. I am going to play these bad boys as mutated rat ogres with mutations that give them +1 toughness and +1 strength which results in some really heavy big toughness 5 and strength 6 monsters. God I love 6th edition. well hope you like the model. there are two more on the way.

Oh I nearly forgot, I have also placed a pack master on his base, helping him to reattaching his left arm, while he is inspecting his other recently resown right arm. enjoy ^^.

Here are some of my conversions that I will use as flayerkins. I am going to use ghoul converted skaven models as giant rats or thotlings, I am not really sure of which yet. My idea is that the clan will have a great supply of test subjects that will be consisting of the ghoul models and that some which have been experimented on and survived will have great mutations and be played as flayerkins.

Season of the cockatrice

Mawg who were recently wounded sent out his throtlings to search for the cooking books of Urga hoping that the witches magical potion could heal his severe wounds.

Pirazzo had also heard about the cooking books and thought they could be sold for a tremendous price on the black markets of Tilea.

Now the two warbands once more meet each other in the forests.

Turn 1: Pirazzo's amazons finds one of Urgas lost cooking books but they can hear that something is lurking in the woods.

Turn 2: After a short look in the books Pirazzo and his men starts the hunt for cockatrice eggs, which is the secret ingredients in the potion of revival.

Turn 3: Pirazzo and his men splits up and soon they start finding weird and colorful eggs in the forest, some of them must be a cockatrice egg.

Turn 4: Otto Fatman's pikemen soon finds themselves surrounded by a horrifying group of throtlings. A huge rat ogre with two heads is also accompanying them.

Turn 5: Otto's men tries to back and brace themselves for an attack. The rat ogre roars and the hordes of entwined throtling bodies swarms over the poor pikemen who flees back towards the city.

Turn 6: Pirazzo is unaware of what has taken place, he has seen some unnaturally big rats but they have been easy to kill and he soon walks back towards the city of Tilea.

Easter Bash

The season of the cockatrice

As spring breaks out in the Tilean areas of the old world the season of the cockatrice takes place. It is a magical time for searching after eggs, cooking up magical soups and bashing in the skulls of your enemies.

This easter an old hag namned Urga who lived near the Tilea capital have died of old age. She was known for her expertise in magical potions. Soon after her death her cottage was burglarized. Some of the things that were stolen were of great value. It is said that somewhere in her books and notes the recepie to revive a fallen soldier lies.

Now all warbands in the nearest areas are killing each other over cooking books ingredients and old sheets of recepies.

This campaign supplement should be played for a course of a day. And is a great fun way to make your warband campaign slightly funner during the easter weekend.

The campaing uses the same scenario set up as the ”A little war” scenario in the warhammer warbands article with a few changes.

URGAS COOKING BOOKS
In the first three game played during the day the note with the cooking book should be placed in the middle of the table. The cooking books works like a banner in most ways but you can also pick it up but walking over the marker. If a unit had the cooking book during the end of a match the unit will continue to carry the book untill it is broken in combat in another match.

THE EGGS
In each match played there should be 3 egg markers placed on the table. They are carried and dropped in the same way as the secret ingredience. Right after deploying your troops roll to see who has to place the first egg marker. The marker must be placed 24 inches from any friendly unit and 6 inches from another egg marker. You get +25VP for each egg carried at the end of the game. New egg markers are placed on the battlefield and the eggs are removed from the units after each match. They will play a more important role at the end of the campaign.

ENDING THE CAMPAIGN
In the end of the campaign all warbands that has one of Urgas cooking books is rewarded with a magical potion of revival special magic item.

THE POTION OF REVIVAL
The potion of revival is a magic item that can be used after a battle were one of you models have died permanently (after rolling on the serious injury chart)(it works on everything from charcters to monsters, musicians and champions etc etc). The potion of revival can only be used once then it disappears from your warband. The power of the potions varies on how many eggs you averagely collected during the cockatrice campaign. What you do is you take the number of eggs collected in total and divides that amount with the amount of games you have played. This vill give you an average of 0-3 eggs.

0 eggs: youre model is revived but roll on the heroes serious injury chart two times
(reroll any deaths)
1 egg: the same as above but only one time
2 eggs: your model is fully recovered
3 eggs: your model is recovered and regenerated, more powerfull then before. Roll a d6:
1-3: +1ws/bs
4-5: +1s
6: +1w

Tilean Archives (Lost tales)

Whispers on the street mention the Crystal Skull. Questions like “Where does it come from?” are thrown around quite a lot these days. Some say there are papers hidden in the Tilean archives from the expedition to Lustria and former battles lost to history. This is very true only Pirazzo and the Tilean paymaster knew what really happened in the jungles of Lustria. This is part of a journal that one of Pirazzo's men carried with him on his quests.

We have been marching through this greenish hell for weeks now and got nothing to show for. The recruitment poster clearly stated “we know where the gold is”. Pirazzo is determined though; almost a bit crazy…I guess we all are a bit crazy for following this madman.

Things are starting to look a bit brighter; one of our scouts returned today and reported that he found a clearing through the jungle; even a temple! With good news comes bad news it seems that we are not the only one interested in treasures, a raiding party of skaven has been sighted lurking around. I am sure it’s not going to be a problem for us, secondly are skavens even real? If you ask me I would believe there are some skinks trying to scare us away.

We arrived at the temple as planned but it is far greater than I could ever imagine. I would not have believed it if I had not seen it with my own eyes. Its walls covered with carved stone skulls, indeed a place for “old one” worship. Pirazzo ordered us to rest through the night and tomorrow raid the temple; I volunteered to be part of the first group to enter the temple. Also there were no skavens to be seen there so they must have been seen with crazy eyes.

This might be my last entry… Last night I dreamed that I stood at the top of the temple holding a skull made from solid crystal. Could this be an omen? That I will stand on top of the world as the greatest explorer, even greater than Marco Colombo and Pirazzo! It is like the old ones are calling me…

Part of Gonzalo de Alvarado’s recovered journal.

This is a battle report we made from a previous battle before the blog and we are continuing the tale at the moment as you can see in previous entries. Basically a plague priest named Rotmin stole the crystal skull from Pirazzo's lost legion in Lustria and got away. Ever since that day Pirazzo has been searching for the skull and hunting down skavens...

The near death of Mawg the entwiner (Battle report)

Mawg is still moving troops through the woods near Tilea but now more prepared for ambushes.

Pirazzo is still seeking information about where the Crystal skull might have ended up. After confronting Otto Fatman and informing him about the disgraceful acting of his soldiers on the battlefield Otto have agreed to repay half of the money he charged for his pikemen and have Pirazzo hire them for a free until the end of the week.

Armies:

Mawg's entwined warband (skaven Hell Pit)

Master Moulder: Mawg

2 packs of throtlings

1 pack of giant rats

1 mutated rat ogre

Pirazzo's new legion (dogs of war)

10 Pirazzo's lost legion

9 pikemen

Turn 1: The Skaven warband found Pirazzo's legion in the forest and started to move against them hoping they would not be prepared for an attack.

Pirazzo soon noticed the ratmen and turned his troops against the vermin force. Firing crossbow bolts into their foul ranks.

Turn 2: As Mawg's forces continued moving against pirazzo's men Mawg himself sneaked around in a nearby forest looking at the battle from a safe distance.

Pizarro's men reloaded and another wave of bolts were fired into the horrific throtlings, one or two rat creatures fell dead to the ground but most of them kept on tumbling against Pizarro's soldiers.

Turn 3: The unit of throtlings ran straight into the spear wall of pirazzo's men. Otto Fatman's pikeman was occupied fighting off some unnaturally large rats and was not able to aid their comrades. But Pirazzo neede no help he and his men held strong against the verminous tide who ran off just as quickly as they charged.

Pirazzo's men ran after the fleeing group of freakishly rat creatures who ran screaming in all directions.

Turn 4: In an attempt to rally his troops Mawg ran out of his hiding place and charged right into the side of Pirazzo's men. On the other side of the unit a huge rat emerged from the forest screaming and waving an unnaturally number of arms.

Pirazzo jumped through the ranks of his men until he reached Mawg and confronted him in combat. The master moulder were able to keep his distance using his great whip. Pirazzo dodged a whiplash coming flying against him and with a great force he threw his sword that pierced the fat body of Mawg, who heavily fell to the ground.

Turn 5: The Rat ogre now ran against Pirazzo's men and pirazzo ordered everyone to retreat into the forest to escape a certain death. The great creature could not reach the men in the denser parts of the forest.

The rat ogre had not noticed Otto's pikemen who now had a change to charge the beast. Pirazzo screamed to them "ATTACK!!!" But the fear of being torn apart was to great so the pikemen held their ground paralyzed with fear.

Turn 6: Nothing more happens...

Aftermath: After losing the rat ogre in the denser part of the forest Pirazzo and his men walks back to the Tilean city once again disappointed in the behavior of Otto Fatman's pikemen, at least this time their services were for free. But that was not all that was troubling Pirazzo, he still had not found out anything about the whereabouts of the crystal skull.

Mawg wakes up in the forest badly wounded, using his rat ogre patching tools he manages to sew up his pierced belly. He slowly walks back against the clans nest were he later is properly patched up but the damages to him is very great and he will not be able to partake in any missions for the coming weeks. He now
sits in his cavern plotting and rethinking his plans bitter and filled with hatred against all man-things.

Pirazzo's revenge!!! (Battle report)

After Pirazzo and his legion returned back home to Tilea, Pirazzo could not stop thinking about an encounter that took place in the deep jungles of Lustria. A band of Skaven looted a valuable treasure , the Crystal skull, from a temple and ran away with it leaving many of the Tilean men to die under the jungle canopy. After many nights filled with nightmares Pirazzo went to the paymasters to ask for advice. They have heard rumors about a small warband of Skavens lurking about. Furious Pirazzo gathered some mercenaries at the local tavern and went on his bloody quest to revenge his fallen men and to obtain information about the whereabouts of the Crystal skull.

The skaven warband that had been lurking about were none other than the soldiers of Mawg's Entwined, a skaven clan that originally was a part of Hellpit's clan Moulder but had parted a while back creating their own clan. The Mawg clan were now searching for a new settlement and a group of them were ambushed by Pirazzo in the woods outside of Tilea.

Armies:

Mawg's entwined warband (skaven Hell Pit)

Master Moulder: Mawg

2 packs of throtlings

1 pack of giant rats

1 mutated rat ogre

Pirazzo's new legion (dogs of war)

10 Pirazzo's lost legion

9 pikemen

Deployment:

Turn 1: Pirazzo ordered his men to open fire upon the skaven throtlings but the bolts from the crossbows did not manage to cause the horrible creatures any harm.

Mawg screamed at his rabid troops as his whip cracked. The warband rushed against the human soldiers.

Turn 2: As the skaven came closer another volley of bolts rained upon the skaven ranks and some of the foul ratmen fell dead to the ground.

Mawg's throtlings neared the pikemen who on the sight of the horrific creatures gave in to their fear and started fleeing.

Turn 3: Pirazzo could see in the corner of his eye the hired pikemen fleeing "those cowardly, unworthy no goods, never again will I hire men from Otto Fatman" he cursed. Taking the matter in his own hands he charged furiously down the hill bellowing "Taste steel vermin demons!!!". Mawg sees the Tilean captain slaying his soldiers and order his troops to flee.

Mawg's whip cracks and he gnarls an order to the huge rat creature "Go kill kill all human thingzss" the hideous beast directly turns around while the rest of the warbands runs off to safety.

Turn 4: Pirazzo maneuvers his men to take position if any of the ratmen would tun back.

The two headed rat ogre runs towards the regiment roaring with saliva drippings from its mouths.

Turn 5: "Fire at will!" order Pirazzo and crossbow bolts start to fly against the huge beast.

But the creature wont fall, the damaged beast continuous to approach the regiment, still roaring. More and more bolts hits the creatures entwined fleshy body. "Embrace!" screams Pirazzo as the great rat ogre smashes into the wall of pikes. Vast amounts of blood and mutated entrails were dripping and falling down on the ground before the lifeless body heavily fell down on the ground.

Aftermath: No ratmen had been left alive so no information about where the Crystal skull where could be obtain. But Pirazzo had also something else on his mind, that merchant Otto was going to pay for hiring him such useless soldiers.

When Mawg felt he was in safe distance from the battle he ordered some of the stronger of his throtlings to go back and drag back the rat ogre. If the beast could not be revived some of his body parts surely could be used to enhance some other of his beasts.
